Meet Teesia, a healthcare maverick who embarked on her thrilling journey 22 years ago as a phlebotomist. But that was just the beginning! Like a medical superhero, she swiftly advanced into nursing after scoring an Associate of Science in Nursing from Gordon State College, leaving us all in awe of her nursing prowess. Three years later, she triumphantly conquered a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Clayton State University, proving that she’s not one to shy away from a challenge.
Gordon State was just the beginning of her grand adventure. She fearlessly dove into the chaotic world of a medical-surgical unit, followed by a daring stint in outpatient kidney dialysis for a staggering nine years. Not content with just saving lives, Teesia also took on the role of Facility Manager, showing us mere mortals that there’s nothing she can’t handle. In fact, her exceptional leadership skills inspired her to pursue an MBA from Clayton State University in 2014, because apparently, she just can’t get enough of being an overachiever.
But Teesia’s heart longed for more direct involvement in patient care, leading her to spend the last five years rocking the emergency departments of Georgia, Texas, and California. Talk about a healthcare globetrotter! And as if her superhuman multitasking skills weren’t impressive enough, she managed to complete her Masters of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University while saving lives left and right.
Currently, Teesia is conquering the world as a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner in South Atlanta, Georgia, where she’s undoubtedly leaving a trail of awestruck patients in her wake. But that’s not all! She’s also a content creator for a certification testing solutions company, where she uses her advanced practice nursing knowledge to create magical learning experiences for aspiring nurses. Talk about being a beacon of inspiration!
But Teesia isn’t satisfied with just being a healthcare superstar. No, her thirst for knowledge knows no bounds. She’s a lifetime learner, constantly seeking new ways to educate herself and elevate her game. Her passions lie in wellness, functional medicine, root-cause analysis, and health coaching. Basically, if there’s a cutting-edge approach to healthcare, you can bet Teesia is already knee-deep in it, making the world a healthier place, one patient at a time.
When she’s not donning her superhero scrubs, you can find Teesia enjoying the thrills of sci-fi movies, jet-setting across the globe, getting in touch with nature in the great outdoors, nurturing her green thumb in the garden, or spinning her way to fitness.
